Oxford v Cambridge

The Boat race 2022 – Oxford v Cambridge. Yes, the historic regatta between the two most important universities in London took place yesterday Sunday April 3 on the banks of the Thames.

And the deaf was there cheering. for Oxford it is clear! (obviously the interference of the husband in this sense have a moderate weight, having the husband precisely studied at Oxford).

Oxford v Cambridge is not a simple regatta, it is an unmissable event, very English.

I needed to go to a place and be able to scream where no one cared about me, but we were all prey to the wildest typhus. After days of being distressed about the MRI results, about this new tablet therapy that I have started and we are not sure when it will end. For my plans once again dazed, distracted, forgotten. and so yes, I needed to scream, not to think, to drink and to be a normal person, not sick, not deaf.

and what better occasion than the Oxford v Cambride challenge?

yes, I cheered, drank beer in the pub with the other Brits, and drank Pimm’s. I enjoyed it, I didn’t think of myself as sick, for once in short. like how sometimes I went out drinking with my friends, doing what I did before. In those moments I don’t feel sick, perhaps because I’m with people who know me and love me and make me feel calm. Or maybe it’s me who doesn’t feel deaf or sick.

Anyway another little adventure. Let’s imagine a pub full of people, all with beer, eating and drinking. I turn around with the beer just taken from the counter and obviously a guy passes with the delicacy of an elephant and spills me half a beer. Everyone watching me … with beer in their shoes as well.

He turns and makes me; “oh no, sorry, anyway I only poured you a little bit of beer, you still have almost all of it”. This is the main concern. And he was actually right. I mean .. who cares about the jacket or the shoes. Drinking is more important.

In short, a change of perspective.

Oxford v Cambridge.

ah and Oxford won!
